In this installment of CBC's Sunday Edition, Michael Enright and Sharon Friesen of the Galileo Educational Network discuss the role of standards in the current education system. Friesen, a member of CEA's Research Advisory Committee, argues that an overemphasis on marks through rewards and punishments can lead to anxiety that inhibits learning, and in turn leads a child to conclude that "learning isn't for them."
