The US-based Foundation for Child Development has released an addendum to their annual Child and Youth Well-Being Index (CWI) that compares trends in US child and youth well-being with those of four other English-speaking countries: Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. While Canada compares compares favourably with regard to educational achievement, high school completion, and child poverty and health, it has by far the lowest rate of pre-school enrolment of the five nations.
