Recognizing the importance of innovative high school reform, ASCD has named this issue as one of the Association's top legislative priorities and developed a High School Reform Proposal to help the U.S. Congress foster the innovative reform that is needed to fully support our nation's high school students.

The proposal, developed in consultation with experts recommended by the Association's governance bodies, focuses on five key components:
* Multiple assessments
* Personalized learning
* Flexible use of time and structure
* Professional development for teachers and school leadership
* Business and community engagement

More information will be available in the coming months as we continue to develop suggested legislation and associated resources. A summary of the proposal follows and can be downloaded as a PDF .
