Tim O'Reilly on Web 2.0 and Education PDF Print E-mail

"I think we're in--in a lot of ways--a period of the most profound reinvention of ...education and how people need to learn since the invention of literacy." Tim O'Reilly, founder of O'Reilly Media, and one of the originators of the phrase "Web 2.0." His essay on Web 2.0 certainly is considered the seminal description.

Steve Hargadon interviews Tim O'Reilly and discovers some real wisdom about education that goes far beyond web 2.0, e-learning and the realms of computer geeks. The audio interview is long, about 30 minutes, but well worth the time invested to learn what at least one technology leader, innovator and educator sees in the future for education.

Listen to the interview at www.stevehargadon.com.

"I've often been skeptical of formal education because most of the really interesting people that I know have achieved their education in spite of their formal training, not because of it." > Tim O'Reilly, founder of O'Reilly Media, and one of the originators of the phrase "Web 2.0."
